My work

I live and work in Dublin. I started my art career creating textile pieces which I exhibited regularly at The Patchwork Society Annual Exhibitions. At that point I created figurative and abstract pictures but my main interest was in using fabric to create geometric patterns. I moved onto painting, starting with portraits, still life, landscapes and finally creating a series of paintings using arches with a view to exploring perspective. Bold shapes and colours have always fascinated me. When travelling I choose countries that offer vibrant colours, be it women dressed in saris or vegetables and spices in markets. When seeking out art work I look for artists like Richter, Jackson Pollock, Miro, Kandinsky.

My current work is inspired by photographic images I have taken of different old metals, metals like old decaying gates or electrical boxes which have a history, a history shown by way of markings made by humans or ageing by climate. Working on these photographs with post photographic processes I create original, abstract, colourful images. These images are quite diverse as their inspiration is diverse. Some images offer up their potential early, others are more secretive and need to be teased out.
My work is printed on archival Hahnemuhle fine art based lustre paper and framed with archival materials positioned with in a frame according to accepted archival methods.
Exhibited: The Open Window Gallery, Halftone Print Fair 2019/2020, Ranelagh Arts Festival Exhibition. St Philip’s Art exhibition, Rathgar 2020
Two of her prints have been bought for the OPW collection.
